Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 21, BYD has officially commenced sales of its new pure-electric subcompact crossover SUV, the BYD Atto 2 (known in China as Yuan Up), in Israel, as announced by the brand’s official importer Shlomo Motors.

The Atto 2 delivers fast charging from 30% to 80% in 19 minutes and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. It incorporates BYD’s Blade Battery technology, noted for its safety, durability, and efficient packaging. A plug-in hybrid version of the same model will be introduced in Israel shortly.

BYD entered the Israeli market in late 2022 and now offers a comprehensive lineup that includes the Atto 3 compact crossover, Dolphin hatchback, Seal sedan, Sealion 7 mid-size SUV, premium Tang seven-seater, and the newly launched Atto 2. Three plug-in hybrid models are also available, providing one of the widest ranges of electrified vehicles from a single manufacturer in the country.

In the first ten months of the year, BYD led pure-electric vehicle sales in Israel with 7,825 units delivered, according to the Israel Vehicle Importers Association. Chery followed with 6,349 units. Chinese brands together accounted for 82.1 percent of all electric vehicle registrations during the period, totaling 43,177 units.

The strong performance highlights growing consumer confidence in Chinese electric vehicles, driven by competitive pricing, advanced fast-charging capability, generous standard features, and the continuous expansion of public charging infrastructure across Israel.

Positioned as a practical urban crossover, the Atto 2 combines compact exterior dimensions with a raised driving position and spacious interior, making it well-suited to Israel’s city and suburban driving environment. The upcoming plug-in hybrid variant will further broaden its appeal by offering both zero-emission pure-electric driving and extended-range flexibility.

Shlomo Motors continues to expand its nationwide network of sales and service centers to support the increasing number of BYD customers. The rapid addition of new models, including the Atto 2 and its hybrid version, reinforces BYD’s position as the leading electric vehicle brand in Israel and reflects the company’s commitment to delivering diverse, high-quality electrified mobility solutions tailored to local market needs.
