Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 29, STRABAG Oman has secured a €102 million contract from Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology to upgrade two major arterial roads in central Muscat: 18th of November Street and Al Mouj Street.

STRABAG has been awarded a major road upgrade project worth €102 million for Oman's capital, Muscat

The 8.7 km project will widen 18th of November Street to three lanes in each direction, construct a flyover and underpasses, and convert roundabouts into signal-controlled junctions. The improvements aim to ease congestion along one of Muscat's primary transport corridors, enhance access to Muscat International Airport, Sultan Qaboos Highway, and Muscat Expressway, and raise overall traffic safety.

Work will be carried out under live traffic conditions using phased diversions. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2026 and complete within 30 months. STRABAG Oman will act as general contractor, responsible for both detailed design and execution.

Oman remains a key market for STRABAG. In parallel, the company is building its new regional headquarters in western Muscat at a cost of €12.4 million. The five-storey building will provide approximately 7,500 m² of gross floor area, including parking for 57 vehicles on the lower two levels and modern office space for around 150 employees on the upper floors. The headquarters is expected to be finished in spring 2027.
