Wedoany.com Report-Dec.30, Recently, Petrobras announced plans to restart the Bahia Fertilizer Plant in Camaçari in January 2026. The plant is currently in the final stages of maintenance, with comprehensive system commissioning underway across the entire facility.

It is reported that Petrobras had previously disclosed in September this year that the Bahia Fertilizer Plant was originally planned to resume production by the end of 2025. As a key part of the company's strategy to return to the fertilizer sector, the plant has a designed capacity to produce approximately 1,300 tons of urea and 1,300 tons of ammonia per day, and can also produce the gasoline additive Arla 32. To ensure a stable supply of raw materials, Petrobras has signed an agreement with Bahiagás, Brazil's state-owned natural gas distributor, which stipulates that the latter will supply 1.2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.

It is noteworthy that Petrobras's fertilizer business resumption process is progressing in an orderly manner. In addition to the Bahia Fertilizer Plant, the company restarted the urea production line at the Araucária Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant in Paraná in August this year and plans to initiate the restart of the Sergipe Fertilizer Plant in Sergipe in early 2026. Data shows that the Sergipe Fertilizer Plant has a maximum designed capacity of 1,800 tons of urea and 1,250 tons of ammonia per day, and can co-produce carbon dioxide.
