Wedoany.com Report-Dec.31, On December 30, the 10 millionth standard container of the year at Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port was hoisted at the Fangcheng Port area, marking the first time the port's annual container throughput has surpassed 10 million TEUs. On the same day, the port launched its 100th container shipping route to Kampot Port in Cambodia. Additionally, the number of rail-sea intermodal trains operating on the New Western Land-Sea Corridor this year has cumulatively exceeded 10,000.

Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port is a crucial maritime gateway for western China and a key node of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. Data shows that the port's container throughput grew from 2.28 million TEUs in 2017 to 10 million TEUs in 2025, with an average annual growth rate exceeding 20%. During the same period, the annual number of rail-sea intermodal trains on the New Western Land-Sea Corridor increased from 178 to over 10,000, with its service network now covering multiple provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in central and western China.

The enhanced capacity of the port and corridor has driven regional industrial agglomeration. The PetroChina Guangxi Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Integration Project, located in Qinzhou Port, commenced operations in October this year. The project aims to leverage the corridor's advantages to serve markets in Southwest China, South China, and ASEAN. Guo Chunfeng, Director of the Marketing and Transportation Department of the company, stated, "The geographical and corridor advantages of Beibu Gulf Port are crucial for our enterprise's transformation and upgrading."

The efficient logistics corridor has also boosted the trade of ASEAN agricultural products into China. Through Beibu Gulf Port, fruits like Thai durians can enter the Chinese market relatively quickly. Pinnakamon Taveetianon, Consul General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Nanning, believes that Guangxi's continuous improvements in transportation and logistics provide a solid foundation for deepening economic and trade cooperation. Currently, Qinzhou Port has opened several direct fruit express routes to ASEAN countries.

Zhang Junfeng, General Manager of Taier New Materials Company located in the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park, noted that the growth in port throughput and the train network allow products to reach international markets faster. COFCO Oils & Fats (Qinzhou) Co., Ltd. also stated that relying on Qinzhou Port has improved its export efficiency to countries like Vietnam and Thailand.
