Scheduled critical maintenance work has begun on the Ferosplavna-1 330-kilovolt backup power transmission line connecting the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to the Ukrainian power grid. This maintenance is being carried out under the coordination of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) by specialized Ukrainian technical personnel, with IAEA experts present to provide procedural oversight and technical support.

This maintenance work is part of the routine arrangements to ensure the external power supply for the nuclear power plant. As a major nuclear facility in Europe, the safe and stable operation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is of widespread concern to the international community. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi stated that such technical maintenance helps to continuously ensure the fundamental operational safety of the nuclear power plant.

According to information released by the IAEA, the nuclear power plant is currently in a safe state with all parameters normal. IAEA experts will continue to be stationed on-site to provide independent monitoring and assessment of the plant's operational status.
