This 47-kilometer stretch of Route 14D is being widened and upgraded with a total investment of $105 million. Upon completion, the road will feature two lanes in each direction, which is expected to significantly reduce travel time along this route. The new road includes a viaduct, two bridges, three underpasses, and eight intersections.

The Pátzcuaro-Uruapan highway upgrade project will support agricultural activities in the region and boost tourism growth.
