This system serves as a cost-effective, entry-level solution for manufacturing environments, helping users transition from manual finishing to more controlled and repeatable processes.
According to the company, the M4 Basic is specifically designed for 3D-printed metal and polymer parts produced using technologies such as SLA, SLS, MJF, and SLM, capable of handling parts up to 70 × 70 × 25 mm in size. This compact system offers finishing capabilities such as smoothing, grinding, polishing, and deburring within a single plug-and-play unit.

The M4 Basic integrates a 20-liter rotary vibrator and a 25-liter process water tank. Its closed-loop system design extends the lifespan of the process water, reduces downtime, and lowers water and electricity consumption, thereby helping to control operational costs and environmental impact.
The system is mounted on lockable transport casters and operates using a standard 230-volt power connection, allowing for easy installation within existing manufacturing environments without additional work. Spellacy noted that the M4 Basic is expected to attract machine shops, service bureaus, and in-house additive manufacturing teams seeking to standardize their finishing workflows.
