Wedoany.com Report on Feb 25th, AM Solutions has introduced a new system called the M4 Basic, designed to expand the accessibility of post-processing technology for additive manufacturing. This system serves as a cost-effective, entry-level solution for manufacturing environments, helping users transition from manual finishing to more controlled and repeatable processes.

According to the company, the M4 Basic is specifically designed for 3D-printed metal and polymer parts produced using technologies such as SLA, SLS, MJF, and SLM, capable of handling parts up to 70 × 70 × 25 mm in size. This compact system offers finishing capabilities such as smoothing, grinding, polishing, and deburring within a single plug-and-play unit.

Colin Spellacy, UK Sales Director at AM Solutions, stated: "At AM Solutions, we've observed that additive manufacturing users face pressure to deliver consistent, production-grade surfaces, even at smaller scales. The M4 Basic provides them with a realistic, economical way to replace improvised manual steps with controlled, repeatable processes. It's the entry point to true industrial post-processing."

The M4 Basic integrates a 20-liter rotary vibrator and a 25-liter process water tank. Its closed-loop system design extends the lifespan of the process water, reduces downtime, and lowers water and electricity consumption, thereby helping to control operational costs and environmental impact.

The system is mounted on lockable transport casters and operates using a standard 230-volt power connection, allowing for easy installation within existing manufacturing environments without additional work. Spellacy noted that the M4 Basic is expected to attract machine shops, service bureaus, and in-house additive manufacturing teams seeking to standardize their finishing workflows.

Spellacy added: "Many companies have invested heavily in printers, but their parts are still being processed through buckets, sandpaper, and hand tools. The M4 Basic changes that. It packages our vibration finishing expertise into a quiet, compact system that can sit right next to the printer, delivering reliable, high-quality surfaces day in and day out."

The M4 Basic sits alongside the larger M4 system as part of AM Solutions' automated portfolio, supporting customers from initial adoption to fully industrialized additive manufacturing production. Spellacy concluded: "The quality, repeatability, and efficiency of post-processing are no longer optional. With the M4 Basic, we're making that standard achievable for everyone in the additive manufacturing value chain." The launch of this system is expected to enhance the accessibility of additive manufacturing post-processing, providing professional solutions to a broader range of users.
