Lanzhou Auxiliary Agent Factory Co., Ltd. is affiliated with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Gansu Province. In the early 1960s, Northwest Normal University undertook the national research project initiated by the State Science and Technology Commission to develop domestically produced initiators. In 1966, with investment from the Ministry of Chemical Industry, China's first specialized factory for producing organic peroxides was established—Lanzhou Auxiliary Agent Factory. Northwest Normal University built the factory on its campus, making it a base for teaching, scientific research, and production. The factory successfully produced specialized catalysts for China's first high-pressure polyethylene unit, solving the problem of domesticating auxiliary agents for imported equipment and filling a domestic gap. It was designated by the Ministry of Chemical Industry as a designated manufacturer of initiators and recommended by China Petrochemical Corporation as a supplier of three-agent products. With the development of China's petrochemical industry, Lanzhou Auxiliary Agent Factory Co., Ltd. has produced more than 30 types of initiators for large domestic petrochemical enterprises. Currently, it offers over 30 varieties and more than 70 grades of organic peroxide products; 9 types of acyl chloride series products; and more than 40 products including naphthalene sulfonic acid anionic surfactants, hydrogen peroxide, polymerization inhibitor diethylhydroxylamine, and special solvents. These are mainly used in the production of rubber, plastics, and synthetic fibers, with an annual production capacity of nearly 10,000 tons, fixed assets of over 68.46 million yuan, and working capital of over 56.25 million yuan. On December 16, 2017, the company was decoupled and restructured to be managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Gansu Province. The factory covers an area of 120 mu (approximately 80,040 m²), with a production building area of 56,000 m². Administratively under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Gansu Province, it operates under enterprise management with independent profit and loss accounting, and is designated as a medium-sized second-class enterprise by the Provincial Economic and Trade Commission, being a wholly people-owned enterprise. The company currently has more than 220 employees. The management team consists of the Chairman, Party Committee Secretary, General Manager, Deputy General Managers, Union Chairman, Discipline Inspection Committee Secretary, Safety Director, and Financial Director. The company is organized into seven comprehensive departments: Production, Supply and Marketing, Finance, Quality Supervision, Company Office, Logistics, and Safety and Environment, along with 4 chemical workshops, 12 production units, 1 mechanical repair workshop, 1 power workshop, 1 plastic packaging workshop, and 1 chemical research institute. The company has always adhered to the policy of "survival through quality" and maintains a comprehensive quality assurance system. In 1999, it passed the ISO9002 international quality system certification, and in 2002, it passed the ISO9001:2000 certification and IQNET certification. In the same year, it obtained the Quality License for Export Commodity Packaging Containers (No. 2X62088). In 1999, it obtained the self-operated import and export business rights approved by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and the State Economic and Trade Commission. In 2017, it obtained the ISO14004:2015 Environmental Management System certification and the OHSAS18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification. The factory has multiple products that have won the National New Product "Golden Dragon Award" and the "Excellent New Product" title from the State Economic and Trade Commission, with 2 products receiving the "Torch Program" and "Agricultural Technology Funding Project" from the Ministry of Science and Technology. Two products have been awarded the title of Excellent Product by the Ministry of Chemical Industry. In 1990, it was recognized as a "First-Class Enterprise of Gansu Province" and has repeatedly received titles such as "Leak-Free Factory," "Clean and Civilized Factory," "Advanced Unit in Enterprise Management," "Contract-Honoring and Credit-Trustworthy Unit," and "Integrity Unit." Its bank credit rating is AA, and it has received honors including "High-Tech Enterprise of Gansu Province," "Academician and Expert Workstation of Gansu Province," "Lanzhou Enterprise Technology Center," "Gansu Province Enterprise Technology Center," "Organic Peroxide Engineering Laboratory of the Company," and "Gansu Province Friendly Materials Degradable Polylactic Acid Engineering Laboratory." Over the years, the company has established long-term and close cooperative relationships with Northwest Normal University, Lanzhou University, the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other provincial research institutions. Relying on the research strength of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Northwest Normal University, it has jointly developed new products, researched new topics, and successfully transformed a number of scientific research achievements, all of which have been successfully piloted at the factory and ultimately formed into industrial production and commercial products, such as Initiators A, B, C, BPO, TBHP, OT, PV, and the high-efficiency polymerization inhibitor DEIP. It has also cooperated with Academician Zhang Quanxing of Nanjing University to develop the environmentally friendly degradable material PLA, and has established an Academician and Expert Workstation at the factory. In 2021, it was recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a national-level specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative "Little Giant" enterprise. In recent years, the company has exported multiple products to countries including Russia, India, South Korea, Germany, and Iran. Product export has become a new economic growth point for the factory. The company has a nationwide sales network, with product warehouses and offices in Nanjing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, and its products have gained a significant market share both domestically and internationally. The company's "Lanquan" trademark enjoys a good reputation.
