Instrument Principle
This instrument adopts the chemiluminescence method. The basic working principle is: NO reacts with O₃ to generate energized NO₂. When energized NO₂ releases energy, it produces fluorescence at a specific wavelength. The intensity of this fluorescence is linearly related to the NO concentration. The sample gas detection method is: NOx in the sample gas enters the instrument and is divided into two paths. One path of sample gas enters the reaction chamber, where NO in the sample gas reacts with O₃ to measure the NO concentration. The other path of sample gas enters the converter furnace to convert NO₂ in the sample gas to NO, then enters the reaction chamber to react with O₃. What is measured is NO₂+NO=NOₓ. Subtracting the NO concentration from the NOx concentration gives the NO₂ concentration. The two paths of sample gas are switched by solenoid valves and share one detection chamber with no system difference. The photomultiplier tube converts the light signal into an electrical signal. Through calculation, the concentrations of NO, NOx, and NO₂ are measured.
