Instrument Principle
The instrument adopts the gas filter correlation infrared absorption method. The basic working principle is: CO has absorption characteristics for infrared radiation at a specific wavelength (4.67 μm), and the strength of absorption is related to the CO concentration. The detection method is: infrared light from the infrared light source sequentially passes through the CO and N2 filters in the rotating filter wheel, then enters the optical cell through a narrow-band interference filter. Infrared light passing through the CO filter in the filter wheel is absorbed and cannot absorb CO in the sample gas in the optical cell, forming the reference light intensity. Infrared light passing through the N2 filter in the filter wheel is not absorbed and irradiates the sample gas in the optical cell. When CO in the sample gas absorbs infrared radiation, it forms the measurement light intensity that passes through the optical cell and irradiates the infrared detector. Through the light intensity ratio of the two, the concentration of CO in the sample gas is calculated using the Lambert-Beer law.
