- Application
SCST-212 thermal protection catalyst is usually used to provide overheating protection for natural gas secondary reforming, coke oven gas oxygen-enriched and pure oxygen reforming catalysts, and to perform pre-reforming to prevent the reforming catalyst from being deactivated by high-temperature impact. The main reactions are as follows:
CH4 + H2O=CO+3H2 -206.3 kJ/mol
CH4 + 2H2O=CO2+4H2 -165.3kJ/mol
CO+H2O=CO2+H2 +41.19kJ/mol
2H2+ O2-2H2O +241.8 kJ/mol

III. Application Fields
Natural gas to synthesis ammonia, methanol units;
Coke oven gas to synthesis ammonia, methanol units;
Catalytic dry gas, coking dry gas to synthesis ammonia, methanol units;
Oilfield gas, refinery gas, naphtha, etc. as feedstock for methanol, synthesis ammonia units.
- Catalyst Characteristics
The catalyst carrier is sintered at above 1500°C, so its thermal stability is very good. After repeated tests, it has been proved that under a single particle load of 1.9kg at 1400°C for 4 hours, the protective agent does not deform or break, which fully proves its excellent heat resistance;
The catalyst has large particles and strong heat storage performance, and its heat storage performance is significantly better than that of porous spherical type;
Higher active components are required to buffer the suddenly rising temperature and truly protect the reforming catalyst. This catalyst is loaded with more nickel, and its content is higher than that of porous spherical type, which allows part of the reforming reaction to proceed on the protective agent. Due to the higher nickel content, its conversion effect is good.
- Packaging, Storage and Transportation
The finished catalyst is packed in plastic drums or iron drums lined with plastic bags. During transportation and storage, it must be protected from moisture, fire, inverted placement and strictly prohibited from chemical contamination. Rolling or impact is strictly prohibited during handling; when stored outdoors, place sleepers at the bottom and cover with canvas for rain protection; it can also be packed in ton bags according to user requirements.
