Wedoany.com Report on Mar 9th, A groundbreaking ceremony recently marked the official commencement of construction for a new student accommodation scheme in Edinburgh. The Jock's Lodge project is jointly funded by student housing developer Alumno and private equity real estate firm Henderson Park, with a total investment of £20 million. Clark Contracts is serving as the main contractor.
This student accommodation complex will provide 191 beds, including cluster flats with shared kitchens and self-contained studio apartments. Planned facilities include study and social spaces, landscaped external courtyard areas, a rooftop winter garden, and a ground-floor cafe/restaurant facing London Road. Located in the Meadowbank and Jock's Lodge communities, the project boasts an excellent location for student accommodation, being less than two miles from the University of Edinburgh and offering easy access to other academic institutions in the city.
The design team includes Stallan Brand, RankinFraser, Will Rudd, and Hawthorne Boyle, with Summers-Inman acting as the agent. The project aims to meet the growing demand for student housing in the area and enhance the overall quality of student accommodation.
