Wedoany.com Report on Mar 11th, French light helicopter manufacturer Guimbal has recently unveiled its new Grand Cabri G5 helicopter. This four-seat, turbine-powered rotorcraft aims to fill a market gap, bridging the product line between its two-seat Cabri G2 and the Airbus Helicopters H125.

Bruno Guimbal, founder and CEO of Guimbal, stated: "When we started delivering helicopters 15 years ago, customers often asked if there was a larger four-seat version. This drove the development of the Grand Cabri G5." This helicopter features a four-blade main rotor, a Fenestron anti-torque tail rotor, and an Arrius 2D turbine engine rated at 450 horsepower. It can accommodate four passengers and one pilot, representing a significant upgrade over the piston-powered G2.
Guimbal noted that the Grand Cabri G5 is designed to provide multi-mission capability, addressing the limitations of the G2, which is primarily used for training. He described the G5 as a "mini H125," pursuing exceptional performance and versatility. Although its overall dimensions are smaller than the Airbus Helicopters H120, the cabin space is comparable, thanks to the compact design of the engine and gearbox.
Regarding the development timeline, Guimbal did not disclose specific details, emphasizing that he would not jeopardize the company's independence to accelerate progress. The launch of the Grand Cabri G5 marks a significant expansion for Guimbal in the helicopter market, responding to long-standing operator demands.
