Wedoany.com Report on Mar 13th, Algerian telecommunications operator Ooredoo Algeria has expanded its 5G network services to all provinces of the country, completing the deployment ahead of the government's original schedule. The company stated that due to continuously growing market demand, it is accelerating the nationwide rollout of its 5G network.

Ooredoo Algeria pointed out that 5G networks are now launched and operational in all administrative divisions (wilayas), and the company will continue to increase base station density to improve coverage quality. To ensure users across all regions have a stable and reliable network experience, the company plans to further strengthen its network infrastructure.
Ooredoo Algeria CEO Roni Tohme stated: "By expanding 5G coverage nationwide, we reaffirm Ooredoo's commitment to investing in infrastructure and networks to provide services meeting international standards, support the digital economy, and help young people and businesses seize the opportunities brought by digital transformation."
This 5G network expansion follows similar progress by another operator, Djezzy. Djezzy announced a week ago that its 5G deployment was also ahead of schedule and is now live in 18 provinces. The 5G expansions by both Ooredoo Algeria and Djezzy are based on the 5G licenses obtained by all the country's telecom operators in December 2025. These licenses were issued by the Algerian Postal and Electronic Communications Regulatory Authority (ARPCE) through a tender process.
According to the Algerian government's national plan, all telecom operators are required to achieve comprehensive nationwide 5G coverage within six years. Market data shows that as of the end of the third quarter of 2025, Algeria Telecom's Mobilis brand led with 23.6 million mobile subscribers; Djezzy had approximately 17.7 million subscribers, while Ooredoo Algeria had 14.8 million subscribers.
