Wedoany.com Report on Mar 13th, Swiss developer S2P Electric GmbH has recently signed a grid connection agreement with Montenegrin transmission system operator Crnogorski Elektroprenosni Sistem (CGES) for a 70 MW solar project in the village of Tupan, Nikšić municipality. The agreement, signed by CGES Director Ivan Asanovic and S2P representative Predrag Prentic, establishes the technical and operational specifications for connecting the power plant to the transmission network. The conclusion of this grid connection agreement marks a crucial step forward for the solar project in the grid integration process.
The photovoltaic park will utilize bifacial monocrystalline modules supplied by Trina Solar, aiming to enhance Montenegro's renewable energy capacity and modernize its power grid. CGES noted that this project not only boosts investor confidence in the electricity sector but also signifies grid upgrades in the Balkan region to accommodate solar development. With clear grid connection specifications, this project provides a replicable technical pathway for the development of subsequent solar projects.
The advancement of the Tupan solar project will help Montenegro optimize its energy mix and reduce dependence on traditional fossil fuels. Through this collaboration, S2P Electric GmbH and CGES jointly promote the achievement of regional renewable energy targets.
