en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 23rd, Solarium Green Energy Limited (Solarium) has commenced operations at a solar module manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, with a nameplate capacity of 1 gigawatt (1,000 MW). This plant is part of the company's backward integration strategy announced in June 2025. Constructed using fully automated, latest-generation manufacturing machinery, it involved a capital expenditure of approximately INR 900 million (excluding working capital).Image of Solarium's solar module manufacturing facility

This technologically advanced facility can produce high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar photovoltaic modules using TOPCon cells, half-cut cells, and bifacial designs, with large-format G12 solar modules reaching up to approximately 725 watts-peak. High-precision imported equipment, including string welding machines, laminators, and solar simulators, supports the production. As solar modules typically account for 50-60% of the total cost in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, this facility is expected to reduce reliance on third-party suppliers.

Assuming an 85% plant utilization rate, operations could generate over INR 10 billion in annual revenue if modules are sold externally, depending on market conditions and pricing. The facility will serve both internal requirements and external clients, including other EPC players and the broader B2B market. In-house consumption is anticipated to accelerate execution timelines and improve profit margins, thereby strengthening Solarium's supply chain and positioning it as an integrated solar solutions provider.

Company executives noted, "The plant's delivery within nine months reflects strong execution capability and readiness for manufacturing scale-up." Through the use of in-house modules and potential market sales, the commencement is expected to support margin improvement for the company's rooftop solar EPC business. The company has indicated it will further engage with consultants and investors for market outreach and investor relations.
