en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 23rd, BlueWind, a manufacturer of glass fiber reinforced plastic components based in Florida, USA, recently announced a $4.4 million investment plan. This funding will be used to enhance production capacity, explore new markets, and establish an integrated headquarters facility in Pensacola to support the company's strategic expansion.
The investment plan includes acquiring a 10-acre plot of land for $2 million to build a new technology campus. An additional $2.4 million will be allocated to purchasing production equipment, particularly a large CNC machine valued at $1.2 million, to strengthen in-house mold manufacturing capabilities and optimize production processes.
The new headquarters site, located less than a mile from existing facilities, aims to consolidate operations currently spread across three buildings totaling 93,000 square feet. Upon completion in the fourth quarter of 2027, the expanded 150,000-square-foot facility is expected to foster technological application and process improvements, enhancing overall efficiency.
BlueWind CEO Jean Zolet stated, "This investment marks a pivotal moment in the company's development as we move beyond the traditional wind energy sector." The company has partnered with GE Vernova to expand its product portfolio from nacelle covers to more turbine components and is producing high-precision bulkhead reinforcements for LM Wind Power, with new projects set to commence.
In the marine sector, BlueWind has begun supplying fiberglass and core kits to Blazer Boats and plans to start manufacturing finished components for the boatyard in the second half of 2026. Consultant Carlos Sinhori noted that the new facility's design will integrate all stages from design to manufacturing, leveraging CNC systems to elevate production standards.
Director of External Relations Henry Kelley will oversee collaboration with government, workforce, and supply chain partners to ensure the expansion yields long-term community and economic benefits. Founded in 2019, BlueWind is expanding its expertise from wind energy into marine, agricultural, rail, and defense sectors, solidifying its position in high-performance composite materials manufacturing.
