en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 26th, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, recently announced that the expansion project of Yanggeun Bridge, which spans the Namhan River, into a four-lane bridge (two lanes in each direction) will commence on the 13th of next month, with a target completion date of February 2030. Yanggeun Bridge has a total length of 765 meters and was opened in December 1997, originally as a two-lane bridge (one lane in each direction). The area connects to the Jungbu Inland Expressway, the Second Capital Region Ring Expressway, National Route 88, and others. Traffic congestion frequently occurs during weekends and peak commuting hours, creating a significant demand for lane expansion.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Construction Headquarters is responsible for implementing this bridge project, with an investment of 59 billion won in construction costs. The project will expand the road width by constructing a new two-lane bridge adjacent to the existing bridge. During the expansion work, the existing lanes will remain open for traffic and will not be blocked. Upon completion, the bridge project is expected to effectively alleviate traffic congestion in this section and improve the efficiency of the regional transportation network.
The Yanggeun Bridge expansion project is one of the important measures by Gyeonggi Province to improve transportation infrastructure. By increasing lane capacity, the project aims to meet growing traffic demand and enhance residents' travel experience. During construction, measures will be taken to ensure that existing traffic is not affected, maintaining normal operation of regional transportation.
