The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the plant site located in Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, with representatives from the project investor, design unit, and construction party in attendance.

This project is a key initiative for Ma Steel to optimize its product structure, reduce costs, improve quality and competitiveness, and advance green intelligent manufacturing. The newly built No. 4 continuous casting machine adopts a curved twin-strand slab caster design, with a curved radius of 10 meters, a metallurgical length of approximately 40 meters, and an annual designed production capacity of 2.37 million tons. Once operational, the equipment can cover the production needs of various steel products including ultra-low carbon steel, high carbon steel, low alloy steel, high-strength cold-rolled and hot-rolled products, pipe steel, and weathering steel.

The construction of this project will further enhance Ma Steel's production capacity in the high-end plate sector, optimize the efficiency of the steelmaking-continuous casting process connection, and provide high-quality slabs for subsequent rolling processes. According to the plan, the project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2027.
