en.Wedoany.com Reported - Hitachi Vantara recently announced enhancements to its EverFlex service capabilities, introducing new service level agreements and simplified procurement and management models that enable organizations to more predictably plan, acquire, operate, and scale infrastructure. As a data storage, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud management subsidiary of Hitachi, Hitachi Vantara supports enterprises in shifting towards a standardized, service-based data platform acquisition model through this initiative, helping customers control infrastructure costs, flexibly manage infrastructure to save resources, and enhance scalability while avoiding over-provisioning.

As organizations scale hybrid cloud environments and data-intensive workloads for the artificial intelligence era, the way infrastructure is acquired, deployed, and managed is becoming central to enterprise IT strategy. Gartner predicts that by 2029, consumption-based Storage as a Service (STaaS) will replace 50% of on-premises enterprise storage and data services infrastructure capital expenditure (CapEx), up from 15% in early 2025. A survey shows that 84% of organizations in the U.S. and Canada report that infrastructure complexity is growing too fast to manage.

Hitachi EverFlex is a flexible consumption model for enterprise data infrastructure, offering multiple options including purchase, lease, usage-based subscription, and fully managed Infrastructure as a Service. The expanded offerings include new CapEx options, defined service commitments, and flexible payment and service options, enabling customers to plan, deploy, and scale data capacity and management services on demand. This platform-plus-services approach helps customers align costs with usage and offers the choice to retain or outsource operational responsibilities.

Jeb Horton, Senior Vice President of Global Services at Hitachi Vantara, stated that all enterprises face challenges from accelerating data volume growth, increasing cyber threats, and stricter regulatory requirements for data sovereignty and compliance. Unlike the time-consuming and expensive "rip and replace" approach, Hitachi EverFlex addresses these challenges through new SLAs and flexible acquisition models, fully leveraging CapEx and OpEx budgets, helping ensure continuous availability, and providing greater cost control assurance while maintaining the performance required for mission-critical and data-intensive workloads.

The enhancements to Hitachi EverFlex focus on improving simplicity, accountability, and operational consistency across the entire lifecycle. New contractual SLAs deliver clear outcomes in key operational areas such as availability, performance, optimization, and recovery, including guarantees supporting continuous data availability for critical workloads and service commitments adjustable to specific customer operational needs. The expanded consumption models allow customers to pay only for the infrastructure needed, making it easier to align investment with actual usage while improving financial predictability and optimizing procurement, including flexible CapEx and OpEx options. For a unified experience, VSP 360 (the common control plane for Hitachi Vantara's Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) data platform, used for usage visibility and SLA monitoring) enables customers to monitor usage, track service levels, and gain operational insights to support governance and decision-making.

Hitachi EverFlex supports enterprise use cases such as hybrid cloud modernization and data-driven AI applications, helping organizations reduce over-provisioning, improve utilization, and accelerate time to value. The service is designed to support current infrastructure needs and future growth, enabling organizations to scale resources as business requirements change without increasing operational complexity.
