en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Institute of Industrial Artificial Intelligence (Intelligent Machines) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Nanjing Estun Automation Co., Ltd. (Estun) officially signed the "Joint Technical Research Agreement on Embodied Intelligent Robots" on June 3, 2026. The two parties will establish comprehensive scientific research and industrial collaboration in fields such as industrial artificial intelligence and embodied intelligent robots. Key leaders from both sides, including Yu Haibin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the Institute of Intelligent Machines, and Wu Bo, Chairman of Estun, attended the event.

According to the agreement, the two parties will establish a joint research and development mechanism focusing on areas such as embodied intelligence in unstructured scenes, intelligent welding and process AI agents, high-performance robot control and cloud-edge-device collaboration platforms, and edge-side intelligent chips and systems. The Institute of Intelligent Machines focuses on the architecture of the new generation of intelligent manufacturing systems and industrial intelligent infrastructure, serving as a source of original innovation in the field of industrial artificial intelligence. Estun, on the other hand, possesses its self-developed iER.OS robot operating system, iER.Cloud AI industrial cloud platform, and an ecosystem of industrial collaborative and embodied intelligent robot products. The collaboration will adopt models such as requirement proposal, preliminary research and development, and technology transfer. The two parties will jointly build a research and development team, promote productization and market-oriented cooperation, jointly undertake major national scientific research tasks, and cultivate high-end composite talents together, accelerating the iterative and large-scale application of industrial embodied intelligent technology in real-world scenarios, achieving a full-chain connection from technology research and development to industrial implementation.

Established in Nanjing in 2024, the Institute of Intelligent Machines is a new type of scientific research institution jointly built by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiangsu Province, and Nanjing City. It is committed to becoming a national strategic scientific and technological force in the field of industrial artificial intelligence. The institution focuses on tackling fundamental common technologies and core unit technologies in industrial artificial intelligence, overcoming "root" technologies such as embodied intelligence and distributed swarm intelligence. As a leading enterprise in China's industrial robots, Estun has accumulated rich intelligent manufacturing solutions and application data across more than 100 sub-sectors. The company conducts research, development, and innovation around motion control technology, robotics technology, embodied intelligent technology, and industrial software, promoting the accelerated implementation of "AI + Robots" in industrial scenarios, helping customers achieve quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and flexible production.

This strategic cooperation marks the transition of the two parties from technical exchanges to project implementation. With the gradual application of industrial embodied intelligence in the field of intelligent manufacturing, Estun will leverage its "AI + Robots" strategy to help intelligent manufacturing develop in a more efficient, flexible, open, and secure direction. In the future, the two parties will continue to collaborate on tackling key challenges, promoting the transition of technological achievements from pilot projects to widespread adoption.
