en.Wedoany.com Reported - Visual content social platform Pinterest has announced a significant expansion of its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), planning to invest $4 billion (approximately 27.155 billion yuan at current exchange rates) in AWS cloud services by 2031.

In its press release, the company stated that it will expand its use of Amazon custom chips, including CPUs and AI ASICs. Currently, about one-third of Pinterest's computing infrastructure already runs on AWS Graviton series Arm CPUs, and this proportion will continue to increase. Additionally, the platform will leverage AWS Trainium to host and run large language models (LLMs) and visual language models (VLMs) to support user experiences such as personalized visual search and AI-assisted discovery.

Pinterest Chief Technology Officer Matt Madrigal stated that Pinterest is heavily investing in artificial intelligence, aiming to deliver more personalized, visual, and actionable discovery experiences to the hundreds of millions of users who use the platform each month. Deepening the partnership with AWS provides the company with computing flexibility, hardware choice freedom, and infrastructure efficiency, thereby accelerating the realization of its AI vision for creating a new generation of visual discovery experiences. This strategic partnership will help Pinterest accelerate AI innovation by advancing the application of proprietary and open-source models, while enhancing both user experience and advertiser performance.
