en.Wedoany.com Reported - NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, in collaboration with TRANSATEL and Zscaler, has launched the Cellular SASE for IoT solution, the first of its kind offered by a Japanese carrier. By integrating zero-trust security architecture at the SIM card level, it provides cloud-native secure connectivity for global IoT devices.

As IoT deployment accelerates, a large number of devices are connecting to global networks. However, many IoT devices are limited by processing power and storage capacity, making it difficult to implement endpoint security measures such as threat detection, access control, and vulnerability response. Global deployment also faces challenges due to varying device specifications and communication environments across different countries, making traditional VPN or endpoint security software solutions difficult to scale effectively. The new solution enables secure communication between IoT devices, cloud environments, and enterprise IT systems without requiring software installation on the devices, supports multi-operator path redundancy, and helps enterprises centrally manage their global IoT and IT environments.
The solution leverages TRANSATEL's global MVNO network to provide connectivity services in over 200 countries and regions. Its multi-operator SIM technology ensures stable communication, and the accompanying centralized management portal reduces the operational burden on customers. On the security front, the solution embeds Zscaler's Zero Trust Exchange platform into the mobile network, offering firewall protection, URL filtering, and intrusion prevention (IPS) for internet access. For private access scenarios, all traffic is routed through a cloud security framework, reducing the attack surface and supporting secure two-way communication between IoT devices and users or servers. Additionally, the solution can be combined with NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS's managed service product "X Managed" to provide centralized support. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS has obtained Zscaler MSSP program certification.
In this collaboration, NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS is responsible for overall solution integration, design, and implementation support, leveraging managed services to deliver high-quality support; TRANSATEL provides global mobile connectivity services and a connectivity management platform; and Zscaler provides the global security cloud infrastructure, applying zero-trust policies to SIM-based connectivity. Nathan Howe, Vice President of Emerging Technologies at Zscaler, stated that by combining trusted mobile connectivity with zero-trust security, the solution will help customers scale deployments under consistent policies, reduce attack surfaces, and simplify daily operations.
Looking ahead, NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and TRANSATEL will continue to enhance the solution's capabilities and expand its coverage in collaboration with Zscaler, focusing on secure IoT applications in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, energy, and smart infrastructure.
NTT Communications Corporation was renamed NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, Inc. on July 1, 2025, positioning itself as an industrial and regional DX platform provider driving digital transformation for industries and communities. TRANSATEL, a global mobile connectivity solutions provider under the NTT Group and a leading MVNO/MVNE enabler, supports secure connectivity for millions of vehicles, industrial machines, and consumer devices over LTE-M, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks via its (e)SIM technology, serving global enterprises including Airbus, BMW Group, and Toyota.
