en.Wedoany.com Reported - AMD and Rackspace Technology have signed a definitive agreement to deploy an initial 30 MW of AMD computing infrastructure in phases across Rackspace's global data centers from late 2026 to 2028. The agreement formalizes the memorandum of understanding announced on May 7, 2026, and establishes AMD as a strategic technology partner for the silicon layer of Rackspace's governed AI stack.

Once fully deployed, the 30 MW of dedicated AMD computing capacity across Rackspace's global facilities will provide capacity for regulated enterprise workloads, with healthcare providers already showing early interest in clinical AI and accelerated computing for large-scale inference. The collaboration integrates AMD Instinct™ GPUs (including MI355X, MI350P, and future generations) with AMD EPYC™ CPUs in an enterprise-grade AI cloud architecture, enabling Rackspace to allocate the right computing resources for each workload and assume full responsibility for end-to-end performance and outcomes.

Gajen Kandiah, CEO of Rackspace Technology, stated that enterprises in regulated industries require AI infrastructure governed from the ground up, with a single operator accountable for business outcomes. This partnership combines the right computing with the right operating model to deliver a governed AI stack supported by a single accountable partner from silicon to outcomes.

Dan McNamara, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Computing and Enterprise AI at AMD, noted that enterprise AI development requires customers to have infrastructure that offers the optimal combination of accelerated and general-purpose computing for each workload. By integrating AMD AI computing solutions with Rackspace's governed cloud operating model, regulated enterprises can deploy high-performance AI infrastructure with the openness, scalability, and accountability needed to run AI.

The two companies plan to allocate sales and marketing resources to identify and engage enterprise customers for AMD computing infrastructure, with each company committing personnel to jointly develop and pursue customer opportunities in regulated industries. The agreement will accelerate the four integrated capabilities announced in the memorandum of understanding: enterprise AI cloud, enterprise inference engine, inference as a service, and bare-metal AMD Instinct. The companies aim to create a new category of managed enterprise AI infrastructure, offering enterprises an alternative to bare-metal models.
