en.Wedoany.com Reported - Cosa Resources (TSX-V:COSA) has initiated an airborne radiometric survey at the Aurora uranium project in the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan, Canada, to identify potential uranium mineralization targets.
The survey is fully funded by Traction Uranium (CSE:TRAC) under an option agreement signed on February 10, 2026. Under the terms of the agreement, Traction has the right to earn up to an 80% interest in the Aurora project by exclusively funding C$9.15 million (US$9.35 million) in exploration expenditures, along with cash and share payments.
The survey is being flown with a 50-meter line spacing to detect radiometric anomalies that may indicate near-surface uranium mineralization. The results will provide target guidance for Aurora's proposed partner-funded fall drilling program.
The Aurora project is located in the southeastern Athabasca Basin, approximately 16 kilometers east of Cameco Corporation's Key Lake mill and historic mine.
Andy Carmichael, Vice President of Exploration at Cosa Resources, stated that given Aurora's thin or absent sandstone cover, combined with the company's 2024 geophysical work, this partner-funded airborne radiometric survey is expected to generate attractive targets for the proposed Traction-funded fall drilling program.
The survey is expected to be completed within two weeks. Data interpretation will follow, integrating with existing geophysical and drilling information to guide Aurora's inaugural drilling program, tentatively scheduled to begin in early September.
The Aurora project covers a 17-kilometer stretch along the southeastern margin of the Athabasca Basin, located 40 kilometers south of the Grease River Shear Zone. Sandstone cover in the northern third of the project area is expected to be less than 100 meters thick, while the remaining area has no cover.
Although no diamond drilling has been conducted on the project since 1979, a review of historical drill records has identified multiple zones of hydrothermal alteration.
Airborne gravity gradiometry and versatile time-domain electromagnetic surveys completed by Cosa Resources in 2024 have delineated initial targets within the Aurora project area.
Drilling at Aurora will commence following Cosa's ongoing Murphy Lake North joint venture drilling and the planned Darby joint venture summer drilling program.
