Harkeet's new Grove GMK5150XL

The five-axle GMK5150XL is equipped with a seven-section 68.7-meter main boom, with a lifting capacity of 8.1 tons at full extension and 12.7 tons at a 60-meter boom length. The 9.6 to 16.2-meter double folding swing-away extension can be fitted with an 11.3-meter lattice insert between the boom head and the swing-away boom, achieving a maximum lifting height of 99 meters. The crane can travel with up to 10.2 tons of counterweight while maintaining an axle load not exceeding 12 tons.

The two new units were sold by Grove's regional dealer Karun, which will also provide subsequent service, training, and spare parts support. Harkeet General Manager Samet Gürsu stated that Grove cranes were chosen for their high quality, and after the completion of offshore platform construction, they will be used in various projects. The uninterrupted safe progress of customer projects is the company's top priority, hence the selection of durable and long-lasting Grove cranes.

Cihan Bektaş of Karun added that the GMK5150XL is an extremely versatile machine, combining a long boom with a compact footprint, making it an ideal solution for the energy and infrastructure sectors, and highlighting Grove's growing influence in the Caspian energy corridor. In this region, high-capacity and multi-purpose lifting solutions are critical for next-generation infrastructure.

Founded in 1957 as a transport company, Harkeet added a crane rental division in 2003, purchasing multiple new crawler, rough-terrain, and all-terrain cranes. Today, the company operates a large fleet of lattice-boom crawler cranes and all-terrain telescopic boom cranes with capacities up to 800 tons across several countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. After the completion of the Azerbaijan gas platform project, the GMK5150XL will be deployed for wind turbine assembly, refinery maintenance, and shipyard operations.
