en.Wedoany.com Reported - The world's largest cruise company, Carnival Corporation (NYSE: CCL), announced the completion of the pier expansion at Celebration Key on Grand Bahama Island. The project adds two new berths, allowing Celebration Key to accommodate up to four cruise ships simultaneously, with a daily guest capacity exceeding 13,000.

Building on the two-berth pier that opened concurrently with Celebration Key in July 2025, the two newly added berths have been brought into service ahead of schedule, doubling the simultaneous docking capacity. This expansion enhances operational flexibility and is expected to add approximately 200 cruise ship calls and 700,000 guest arrivals annually.
Carnival Corporation CEO Josh Weinstein stated that Celebration Key is a core destination within the company's "Paradise Collection," featuring a mile-long white sand beach, the largest freshwater lagoon in the Caribbean, and five unique entry portals. He noted that the early completion of the pier expansion enables the company to quickly respond to market demand, bringing more guests to this Bahamian destination.
In less than 18 months, Celebration Key has firmly established itself as a cornerstone of Carnival Corporation's "Paradise Collection." Currently, 20 Carnival Cruise Line ships sail to the destination from 10 U.S. homeports, reflecting its central role in the company's Caribbean deployment. Starting September 2026, three-ship and four-ship days will become the norm; later this year, Princess Cruises and AIDA Cruises will also join, making Celebration Key a full-portfolio Caribbean platform for Carnival Corporation.
Bahamas Minister of Tourism Glenys Hanna Martin stated that the expansion of Celebration Key reflects continued confidence in Grand Bahama and the Bahamas as a leading tourism destination, aiming to create opportunities for Bahamian businesses, expand employment, and generate economic benefits. Minister for Grand Bahama Ginger Moxey MP noted that this investment is about sustainable, year-round growth, bringing opportunities to local people and the economy.
When Celebration Key marks its first anniversary on July 19, 2026, it is expected to have welcomed approximately 2.5 million guests. With the pier expansion in place, the second year is projected to host around 3.5 million guests. According to an economic impact study by Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics company, the development, construction, and operation of Celebration Key are expected to create over 2,500 direct jobs in the Bahamas over the next two decades, generating $3.2 billion in incremental government revenue and $9.7 billion in incremental GDP impact.
Celebration Key is one of seven exclusive Caribbean destinations in Carnival Corporation's "Paradise Collection," which also includes RelaxAway Half Moon Cay, Isla Tropicale (Roatán), Amber Cove (Dominican Republic), Puerto Maya (Cozumel, Mexico), Grand Turks Cruise Center (Turks and Caicos Islands), and Princess Cays (Bahamas).
Carnival Corporation is the world's largest cruise company, with brands including AIDA Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, and Seabourn. It is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CCL and is a component of the S&P 500 index.
