en.Wedoany.com Reported - At the 7th Science and Technology Innovation Conference of Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. in China, the ZT82J straight-boom aerial work platform was awarded the "Outstanding Flagship Product Award." With a working height of 82.3 meters, this platform is currently the tallest model among similar products globally. It is primarily designed for aerial work demands above 80 meters and meets safety standards for large-scale global infrastructure projects.

The development of this product was led by Product Manager He Jipeng and his team at the Aerial Work Platform R&D Center. The team advanced the ZT82J project from concept to mass production through design, testing, process implementation, and cross-departmental coordination.

In the early stages of R&D, the main challenge was balancing the conflicting constraints of external dimensions and total weight while completing the structural design. The R&D involved ultra-fast lightweight profiled booms, a box-type turntable, and a large-capacity chassis, aiming to significantly enhance structural stiffness while reducing weight, ensuring bending and torsional resistance under 82.3-meter lifting conditions, and suppressing platform sway.

Due to the lack of mature models and reference benchmarks in the industry, the team encountered bottlenecks such as limited space, excessive weight, and insufficient stiffness during development. Achieving an optimal balance among weight reduction, external dimensions, and structural stiffness proved extremely challenging.

After over ten rounds of simulation, the team developed and refined a unique polygonal boom cross-section and evaluated various telescoping configurations to optimize the overall structure. This approach aimed to ensure vertical and lateral stiffness while balancing weight reduction goals with structural load capacity within established constraints.

Building on the lightweight boom, the team integrated and optimized the turntable and chassis. By identifying weak points in stress through simulation, they precisely optimized plate cross-sections, reduced redundant steel while maintaining safety margins, performed lightweight upgrades, and improved fatigue resistance and anti-overturning performance, achieving a structural breakthrough in ultra-high-altitude work equipment.

To support this project, Zoomlion assembled a working group comprising experts in structural control, hydraulic control, and electronic control, equipped with a simulation team and dedicated test facilities to ensure seamless coordination from design to production.

He Jipeng stated that this award recognizes the team's progress in developing ultra-long-boom aerial work platforms, showcasing Zoomlion's technical strength in high-end engineering machinery, while also boosting the team's confidence to continue pushing innovation boundaries and overcoming technical challenges.
