Renault positions Gemini as a digital co-pilot capable of assisting with navigation, answering complex questions, and controlling certain vehicle functions via voice. While Google Assistant primarily executed structured commands, Gemini introduces a more conversational interaction logic that can understand and process continuous, complex requests. For example, in a seamless conversation, a user can ask the vehicle to find charging stations along a route, adjust the air conditioning based on the weather forecast at the destination, and recommend nearby cafes.

Renault states that Gemini is available across its entire European model lineup, from the Twingo to the Rafale. Users can access this feature through a free over-the-air (OTA) update and can choose whether to enable this Google-powered AI.
