en.Wedoany.com Reported - Weir has received an order from Lloyds Metals and Energy to supply 14 GEHO TZPM 2000 positive displacement (PD) pumps equipped with GLORES (GEHO Load Reduction System) for the second phase of the slurry pipeline project at the Surjagarh iron ore mine in Maharashtra, India.

Tony Hendriks, Global Product Manager for GEHO at Weir, stated that this contract demonstrates the company's technical capabilities. The GEHO TZPM 2000 PD pump is specifically designed for high-pressure, long-distance slurry pipelines. This proven high-capacity pump technology supports Lloyds Metals' planned capacity expansion without introducing additional technical risks, while helping reduce reliance on traditional logistics and lowering costs and carbon emissions through slurry transportation.

Lloyds Metals estimates that the pipeline solution can reduce carbon emissions by 69% compared to road transport. The second phase of the project will extend the pipeline to 200 kilometers, increasing annual transport capacity by 16 million tons. Weir previously supplied pumps for the first phase of the project, which involved a 100-kilometer pipeline with an annual capacity of 10 million tons, now fully operational.

Surjagarh is India's largest iron ore mine, with reserves of 875 million tons and a production capacity reaching 55 million tons per year.
