en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kasto has implemented a round of technical upgrades to the Kastossb automatic band saw, with changes covering the sawing feed system, chip removal unit, control system, and maintenance convenience.

The Kastossb series has been in service since 1985, known for its reliable sawing technology, high versatility, robust machine quality, and high performance. Kasto states that four decades of practical experience have been incorporated into this upgrade, with the sawing feed being the most visibly modified area. The new feed system uses a servo-motor-driven electromechanical design, replacing the previous hydraulic drive; power is only consumed during actual sawing, making operation more energy-efficient and quieter. Automatic feed control comes as standard equipment, and with the Kastorespond function, sawing parameters automatically adapt to the respective operating conditions to optimize cutting times.

The chip removal unit has also been redesigned. The new chip conveyor can be optionally installed on the right or left side of the saw, with the operator determining the discharge direction when placing the order, making it easier to integrate into the on-site production workflow. The conveyor discharges chips only from the top, minimizing the risk of clogging and complying with the latest safety standards while reducing cutting fluid consumption. Depending on the application, discharge heights of 600 mm or 1050 mm are available; the addition of rollers facilitates loading and unloading. Thanks to the new design, the chip conveyor can be rotated 30 degrees when installed on the left side, making removal easier; with a discharge height of 600 mm, the required installation and removal space is reduced from 3.6 meters to 2.9 meters, allowing users to save even more production space on this already compact machine.

The control system and maintenance aspects have also been updated. The new-generation Kasto-Procontrol control system supports daily operations with a dashboard and Simple Mode; the material library, cutting plans, and intelligent cutting optimization functions save time and material; diagnostic and analysis tools help locate faults more quickly, reducing downtime. The machine features a split guard with a foldable rear door, providing easier access to the saw band and central components while also reducing maintenance effort. A new viewing window at the front gives the operator a clear view of the working area, roller table, and material feed.
