en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) officially announced in Jakarta that the radio spectrum auction for the 700 MHz and 2.6 GHz bands has entered the price auction phase. As no objections were received from any participants during the objection period for the administrative evaluation results, the selection committee confirmed that the three mobile operators that passed the administrative screening are eligible to proceed to the next round of bidding. These three operators are PT Indosat Tbk (Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison), PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), and PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (XLSMART).

According to an official statement released by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs in Jakarta on June 29, 2026, the price auction process will be conducted online via an electronic auction system, scheduled to start at 09:00 WIB on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. The selection committee received no objections from any candidates, indicating that the administrative process was transparent and compliant with regulations. Previously, the Ministry had announced the results of the administrative document evaluation on June 26, confirming that all three operators met the administrative requirements.
During the price auction phase, the three operators are required to create digital signatures on the Peruri Shield platform, owned by the Indonesian Mint (Peruri), to ensure the security and legality of the bidding process. The public and relevant parties can download the official announcement documents from the official website komdigi.go.id.
The 700 MHz band is considered capable of providing wide-area coverage at lower infrastructure costs, while the 2.6 GHz band offers greater data capacity to handle traffic growth. The combination of these two spectrum bands is crucial for operators to enhance 4G service quality and prepare for mature 5G networks. Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Telkomsel, and XLSmart all require additional spectrum to strengthen their positions in Indonesia's telecommunications market, and intense competition is expected.
Previously, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs successfully organized the 1.4 GHz band auction, gaining experience in managing more complex spectrum auctions. The transparent progress of this auction is seen as a reflection of the government's commitment to openness, and its outcome may impact the improvement of telecommunications service quality in Indonesia, marking a significant milestone in the industry's development.
