Leeds City Council's YORbuild Framework Selects Contractors for £1.5 Billion Programme

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The YORbuild Major Works 2 framework, awarded by Leeds City Council, has completed contractor selection for two lots, with a total estimated value of £1.5 billion, to be used for the delivery of public sector construction projects in northern and central England. The framework covers public sector bodies and third sector organisations in Yorkshire and the Humber, the North East of England, and parts of Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire. It primarily involves general building works, including projects designed by contractors where necessary, and may also deliver some civil engineering works.

The procurement is divided into two value bands. Lot 1 is valued at £600 million (excluding VAT), with successful contractors including Caddick Construction, Galliford Try Construction, Kier Construction, Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure, Robertson Construction Group, Tilbury Douglas Construction, Vinci Building, and Wates Construction. Lot 2 is valued at £900 million (excluding VAT) and has been awarded to Galliford Try Construction, John Graham Construction, Kier Construction, McLaren Construction, Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure, Vinci Building, Wates Construction, and Willmott Dixon Construction.

Both lots are expected to run from 6 July until 5 July 2030, with an optional two-year extension to 5 July 2032. Lot 1 received 16 bids, of which 15 proceeded to the final evaluation stage; Lot 2 received 15 bids, of which 11 were evaluated in the final stage. Leeds City Council is the contracting authority, East Riding of Yorkshire Council is responsible for drafting and issuing tender documents, managing the tender process, and evaluating bids, while Sheffield City Council also assisted in drafting tender documents and evaluating bids. Following the award decision on 22 June, an evaluation summary was sent to bidders on 23 June, with the standstill period expected to end on 3 July, and the framework is expected to be signed on 6 July.
