MAN Germany receives order for 490 TGE vehicles from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Germany MAN Truck & Bus has received an order from the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) to deliver 490 vehicles based on the MAN TGE for civil protection and disaster management operations.

The order includes 350 command vehicles and 140 personnel transport vehicles. Through this collaboration, MAN Truck & Bus is supplying TGE models to this federal agency supporting volunteer work for the first time, further expanding the scope of their partnership.

The two vehicle types serve different operational needs. The personnel transport vehicles are used for transporting personnel and equipment, and can also serve as mobile work and coordination stations on site. The command vehicles function as mobile command centers, handling communication, situation assessment, and on-site coordination during operations.

The order for personnel transport vehicles was placed in January 2025, with the prototype delivered in December of the same year. Following successful testing, series production is expected to begin in August 2026. The order for command vehicles was placed in March 2026, with the prototype scheduled for delivery in December 2026, and series deliveries expected to start in July 2027.

For this project, MAN Truck & Bus is collaborating with body manufacturer Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeug, which serves as the main contractor responsible for integrating special superstructures.
