en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 27, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) selected local construction contractor Saudi Pan Kingdom (SAPAC) to undertake the new road works on King Salman Road in Riyadh, with a contract value of approximately SAR 2 billion (about US$534 million). The project covers approximately 6 kilometers of road infrastructure, including three interchanges on King Salman Road — No. 9, No. 10 and No. 11 — and related supporting facilities.

The construction scope includes road and bridge structures, earthworks, road connection facilities and related civil works. The contractor will also build stormwater drainage systems, road lighting and intelligent transportation systems, and implement the relocation of existing utilities along the route, as well as supporting electrical and infrastructure works.

The road supporting works also cover irrigation pump stations, landscaping and related mechanical and electrical facilities. This award integrates the main road structure with drainage, lighting, traffic control and municipal pipeline relocation into a single construction scope, covering multiple engineering disciplines including road civil works, structures, electrical and ancillary infrastructure.

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City recently also awarded the approximately 3-kilometer reconstruction of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Road to Alomaier Trading & Contracting Company, with a contract value of approximately SAR 1.13 billion (about US$301 million). The section is located in eastern Riyadh, and the construction scope includes three interchanges using prestressed hollow slab structures, one cut-and-cover tunnel and three box culverts, along with supporting stormwater drainage, pump stations and power supply facilities.
