The association, formed by a coalition of radio and television stations in the state, aims to enhance industry representation and expand dialogue on public communication policies.

During the event, Wellisch stated that organizations like the Bahia Media Communication Association can bridge the gap between the government and regional needs, thereby contributing to the formulation of more effective broadcasting policies. He noted that regional representation allows the Ministry of Communications to better align with local demands, crafting more precise public policies for the Brazilian population.

The establishment of the new association aims to promote integration among radio stations, encourage technological innovation, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and launch joint actions to combat misinformation. Currently, the association has brought together over 30 radio and television stations, including media outlets from both the capital and inland areas, all of which are members of the Union of Radio and Television Enterprises of Bahia (Serteb-BA). In the future, the association is expected to incorporate members from the communications sector, such as newspapers and news portals, to solidify its position as one of the state's leading industry representatives.
