en.Wedoany.com Reported - ABI Research has released its "Wireless Connectivity Market Data Overview: Q2 2026" report, showing that the global IoT connectivity market has rebounded from the inventory, supply chain, and demand challenges that plagued the wireless industry from 2022 to 2024, with major suppliers posting notably stronger performance in 2025. The report also warns that new headwinds are forming, particularly memory shortages, which could pose significant planning and pricing challenges for mainstream consumer devices in the second half of 2026 and beyond.

Andrew Zignani, Senior Research Director at ABI Research, stated that wireless connectivity is no longer just about connecting devices, but about enabling scalable edge AI across consumer, enterprise, and industrial markets. As the market shifts from standalone radios to integrated, application-specific platforms, companies that can combine low-latency connectivity, ultra-low-power design, and on-device intelligence will be well positioned.
In terms of shipment forecasts, Bluetooth device shipments are expected to grow from 5.4 billion units in 2025 to 8.1 billion units by 2030, driven primarily by the accelerated rollout of large-scale smart labels; Wi-Fi device shipments are expected to grow from 3.8 billion units in 2026 to 4.3 billion units by 2030; and ultra-wideband device shipments are expected to grow from 597 million units in 2026 to nearly 1.18 billion units by 2030. Short-range wireless technologies are showing broad growth momentum across smart home, consumer robotics, healthcare, wearable, and automotive use cases.
The report shows that Wi-Fi 7 is gradually entering IoT applications with support for 20 MHz solutions, while Wi-Fi 8 is beginning to emerge through new chipset and platform announcements from companies such as MediaTek, Broadcom, ASUS, and TP-Link. Meanwhile, multi-protocol solutions combining Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 802.15.4 continue to gain market traction, with suppliers targeting stricter end-market requirements for power consumption, latency, size, and cost.
Zignani noted that growth opportunities remain, but the competitive landscape is becoming more complex as suppliers weigh compute, memory, power, reliability, and security across a broader range of device categories. The trajectory ahead will depend not only on the innovation cycles of Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 8, Bluetooth, UWB, and 802.15.4, but also on how the ecosystem addresses memory constraints, pricing pressures, and the need for clearer business cases for edge AI.
