en.Wedoany.com Reported - On June 28, the Weihenglei Energy Storage Station officially entered a 24-hour trial operation phase, becoming the first 110 kV independent shared energy storage station in the Wuwei power grid to achieve grid connection. Located in Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, the station has a final construction scale of 200 MW/800 MWh, with the current phase implemented at 100 MW/400 MWh. After the energy storage units are connected to the grid, leveraging their rapid response and flexible regulation capabilities, they can store surplus green electricity locally during the midday peak of photovoltaic generation, thereby enhancing regional photovoltaic absorption capacity. During peak load periods in the morning and evening, they can quickly release electricity to smooth grid load fluctuations and strengthen the safe and stable operation of the regional power system.

To ensure the smooth grid connection of the project, the relevant company established a cross-disciplinary flexible team for grid connection, providing full-process closed-loop services. By strengthening pre-assessment of system integration and scientifically demonstrating the specialized plan for the energy storage project's system integration, the boundary conditions for grid connection were clarified. During the grid connection preparation phase, the team conducted reviews of grid-connected equipment documentation, verification of information point tables, and transmission tests, set equipment protection parameters, and compiled and refined the unit startup commissioning plan to ensure the safety of the grid and equipment. Meanwhile, the team provided multi-disciplinary technical support throughout the entire grid connection cycle, addressing various technical challenges, thereby ensuring the station's timely commissioning.
Going forward, the company plans to build on the grid-connected operation of this energy storage station to accelerate the layout of new energy storage projects, optimize the allocation of energy storage resources in the grid, tap into the regulation potential of energy storage stations, and promote the coordinated development of new energy and energy storage. This aims to enhance the regional grid's new energy absorption capacity, flexible regulation capability, and secure supply level.
