en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vena Energy has raised $961.54 million (A$1.4 billion) through two green financing transactions for Australian solar and energy storage projects, covering over 600 MWp of solar assets and nearly 1.8 GWh of battery storage capacity. The deals combine financing for projects under construction with refinancing of existing facilities.

The first transaction involves 294 MWp of operational solar, 320 MWp of solar under construction, and 408 MWh of battery storage under construction in the Tailem Bend and Wandoan South areas of South Australia and Queensland. The second transaction supports two 583 MWh battery energy storage systems under construction in New South Wales, as well as the operational 150 MWh Wandoan South battery energy storage system in Queensland. Combined, the two transactions cover 614 MWp of solar and 1,724 MWh of battery storage.

Vena Energy stated that the financing matches long-term capital with renewable energy and storage assets, improves financing efficiency, and provides flexibility for future growth of its Asia-Pacific portfolio. Chief Investment Officer Simone Grasso said the transactions demonstrate the company's ability to raise long-term capital for renewable energy infrastructure and also reflect Australia's role in its regional growth strategy. Australia Head Owen Sela noted that the financing will support the continued expansion of the company's local solar and battery portfolio.

It is estimated that the electricity generated by the solar assets covered by the financing can meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 198,000 Australian households. Compared to conventional power generation, these projects are expected to avoid over 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually and save approximately 904 million liters of water.

The financing syndicate includes BNP Paribas, Bank of China, DBS Bank, ING Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, Mizuho Bank, MUFG Bank, OCBC, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, and Westpac Banking Corporation.
