en.Wedoany.com Reported - onsemi has introduced the ARX383CS digital CMOS image sensor, which features a 1/8-inch optical format with an effective pixel array of 640×480, equivalent to 0.3 MP VGA resolution. The sensor employs an innovative global shutter design, optimized for precise capture of fast-moving scenes, delivering clear, low-noise images in both low-light and high-light environments.

The sensor integrates complex camera functions such as automatic exposure control, windowing, row skip mode, column skip mode, pixel binning, pixel summing, and video and single-frame modes, programmable via a simple two-wire serial interface. Features include automatic black level calibration (ABLC), horizontal and vertical mirroring, vertical summing, horizontal binning and row skip downsampling, a 5×5 statistics mechanism for on-chip automatic exposure control (applicable to any programmable region of interest), flexible row and column skip modes, on-chip trigger synchronization mode, integrated flash control, two on-chip phase-locked loops (PLLs), context switching, and 80 bytes of one-time programmable memory (OTPM). The input clock range is 10 MHz to 48 MHz. For power supply voltage, I/O is 1.8 V, digital domain is 1.2 V, and analog domain is 2.8 V.

In terms of technical specifications, the ARX383CS has a pixel size of 2.8 micrometers and uses a monochrome color filter array, with a chief ray angle (CRA) selectable at 0 degrees or 28 degrees. The sensor supports a 1-channel MIPI output interface in 8-bit or 10-bit mode, with a maximum serial output rate of 480 Mbps per channel. At full resolution, the frame rate reaches 120 fps (10-bit), with a maximum signal-to-noise ratio of 37 dB and a dynamic range of 65.3 dB. Typical power consumption is 80 mW (640×480@120 fps), and the junction operating temperature range is from minus 30 degrees Celsius to plus 85 degrees Celsius. Packaging options include a 3.92 mm × 3.56 mm CSP-35 and bare die.
Application scenarios for this sensor include barcode reading, gesture recognition, 3D scanning, position tracking, iris scanning, augmented reality, virtual reality, biometrics, and computer vision, among other industrial scanning and inspection fields. The product is sold through Mouser Electronics.
