en.Wedoany.com Reported - Hitech, a continuous screen changer supplier headquartered in New Jersey, USA, was acquired in June by the Machined Metals Manufacturing Group. Based in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, the group has supplied metal components to extruder manufacturers for over 60 years and is the parent company of Jennings International Corp. and Extrusion Systems Inc., both also located in Collegeville, which specialize in fluoropolymer ram extrusion production lines and process consulting, retrofitting, and systems engineering, respectively.

Following the acquisition, the company was renamed Hitech Screen Changers and is led by Mike Mitchell, a veteran of the extrusion industry, who also oversees the operations of Extrusion Systems Inc. Mitchell entered the plastics industry in 1988 and has held senior engineering roles at Welex Inc. (now part of Graham Engineering Corporation) and Davis-Standard, as well as serving as Vice President of Engineering at processor Delta Plastics, which produces agricultural irrigation films, tank liners, and other products. He founded Extrusion Systems Inc. in February 2020, primarily offering process consulting, retrofitting, rebuilding, and complete systems engineering services.

Hitech was founded in 1969 in South Hackensack, New Jersey, by Hungarian immigrant Dr. John Alroy and his wife Veronica. Alroy had experience in both high-speed canning and plastic packaging. After his sudden death approximately 33 years ago, the company was managed by second-generation owner Aline Alroy, who joined the company in 1986. Hitech's fully automatic continuous screen changers are used in virtually all types of extrusion processes worldwide.

Alroy will remain with Hitech for an unspecified transition period. Rod Crue, who has worked as an engineer at Hitech for 16 years, will join the new company as an employee. Hitech has also hired Randy Joubert, a veteran in extrusion and melt filtration, as Sales Manager. Effective from the transaction date, screen changer production will be transferred to the Machined Metals Manufacturing Group's 28,500-square-foot facility in Collegeville. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
