Yorkshire Water invests £270,000 to replace 550 meters of water main

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Yorkshire Water will launch a £270,000 project on July 6 in Braithwell, Rotherham, to replace over 550 meters of clean water main. This is part of the company's largest-ever infrastructure reinforcement and service improvement program.

The project aims to reduce leaks, lower burst incidents, and improve water supply reliability for customers. The aging pipes will be replaced with more resilient modern mains.

Jason Farrar, Project Manager at Yorkshire Water, stated that the company is making significant investments in Rotherham, and this main replacement is the latest in a series of similar initiatives to enhance the resilience of the clean water network. Other projects include Kiveton Park, South Anston, and Rawmarsh.

Contract partner M Group will begin work on July 6 from Holywell Lane, then proceed to High Street and Holywell Crescent. Traffic management measures will be implemented during construction to ensure safety, with details communicated to local customers in advance.
