en.Wedoany.com Reported - Liebherr is investing over €90 million in Colmar, France, planning to nearly double the production capacity of its high-performance internal combustion engine base by 2030 and create more than 200 jobs. On June 29, 2026, Liebherr-Components Colmar SAS held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the facility.

This expansion aims to support Liebherr's business growth in the internal combustion engine sector, particularly in power generation applications, to meet the strong demand driven by the global data center market. According to the plan, the expansion project includes the construction of 11,600 square meters of new production and logistics space, increasing assembly capacity from the existing 13 workstations to 18 workstations, as well as a new 7,800-square-meter logistics center. Additionally, the base will enhance testing capabilities by installing two new high-power test benches, bringing the total number of test benches to six.

Founded in 2011, Liebherr-Components Colmar SAS specializes in the development, assembly, and testing of high-power internal combustion engines, playing a key role in the group's engine business. This expansion will support the industrialization and production of a new generation of engines to meet the growing demand for high-power generator sets in large data centers. Recruitment efforts have already begun as the new facilities are gradually brought into operation.
