en.Wedoany.com Reported - Caterpillar Inc. announced the launch of its workforce commitment in the U.S. state of Texas, as part of the company's five-year, $100 million "Building the Future Workforce Initiative." The initial grant of up to $5 million aims to help current and future workers in Texas prepare for advanced manufacturing and industrial trade jobs.

Christy Pambianchi, Chief Human Resources Officer at Caterpillar, stated that building a strong workforce begins with investing in people and helping them develop the skills needed for success. Texas is a manufacturing powerhouse and a key hub for innovation, and this commitment aims to leverage these strengths to prepare Texans for current jobs as well as future careers in advanced technology and manufacturing.

Texas was selected for the workforce commitment because it is a recognized leader in U.S. manufacturing and has deep ties with Caterpillar in the state. Texas is home to 6,630 Caterpillar employees, spread across 17 facilities from the company's Irving headquarters to the entire state, including a 1.7 million-square-foot high-tech engine plant in Seguin. The state also possesses the infrastructure, expertise, and strong educational institutions needed to develop innovative training models that can serve as a national example.

Caterpillar's initial investment will explore reducing financial barriers to training, developing a future-oriented skills framework, and strengthening pathways that connect students to careers in advanced manufacturing and industrial trades. To advance these efforts, Caterpillar is partnering with Texas State Technical College, the Manufacturing Institute, and local organizations such as the Seguin Economic Development Corporation. This initiative has already launched in a second state, and information on how funds are enhancing workforce skills and future launches in additional states can be found on the Caterpillar "Building the Future Workforce Initiative" website.

Caterpillar Inc. reported 2025 sales and revenue of $67.6 billion. It is the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives, with business segments including Power & Energy, Construction Industries, and Resource Industries.
