en.Wedoany.com Reported - Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) is accelerating the capacity and performance upgrade of its 5G network to support the country's growing digital economy demands. The company has activated the newly allocated 3.3–3.4 GHz spectrum (F-Zero), which, combined with the existing 3.4–3.5 GHz spectrum, brings DNB's total mid-band contiguous spectrum to 200 MHz—the largest spectrum allocation in Malaysia. Network capacity has thus doubled, significantly enhancing user experience and network efficiency, particularly in high-demand areas.

The enhanced network capacity enables DNB and its access seekers to drive the next phase of enterprise digitalization, covering advanced applications such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation, industrial IoT, and mission-critical services. To date, over 50 sites have been upgraded, with more sites planned for activation to strengthen performance in high-traffic areas.
Mobile data consumption in Malaysia continues to grow rapidly, with average monthly usage rising from approximately 19 GB during the COVID-19 pandemic to around 40 GB currently. The national 5G adoption rate has exceeded 88%, corresponding to over 30.3 million 5G user subscriptions. DNB provides nationwide 5G connectivity at one of the lowest per-GB wholesale costs globally. Shareholders CelcomDigi, Maxis, and YTL Communications collectively serve this user base of over 30 million, having committed investments exceeding 2 billion ringgit to date.
In line with the Malaysian government's transition policy to a dual 5G network model, DNB confirmed that U Mobile has exited DNB's 5G network, effective June 30, 2026. DNB's network operations, coverage commitments, and service delivery remain unaffected. The company stated that it will focus on strengthening network performance, expanding enterprise capabilities, and driving Malaysia's next wave of digital innovation. DNB continues to invest in 5G-Advanced evolution and AI-driven autonomous network management to ensure network performance, efficiency, and reliability.
