en.Wedoany.com Reported - LiuGong's unmanned paver-roller fleet completed asphalt surface layer paving on the Tenglong Avenue Smart Expressway viaduct in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. This marks the first application of unmanned paver-roller asphalt paving technology on an urban viaduct in Changzhou. The construction section spans from K12+335 to K13+321, with a width of 12.25 meters, using HMM-13 high-modulus asphalt concrete. During the operation, one paver and seven rollers coordinated to complete the entire process of paving, initial compaction, intermediate compaction, and final compaction, with no personnel inside the cabins.

Before construction, LiuGong technicians pre-loaded parameters such as paving trajectory, rolling passes, and travel speed into the operation system. Once started, the fleet operated under the guidance of BeiDou satellite positioning, following a preset strategy for task allocation without any manual intervention throughout the process. This technology integrates core capabilities including high-precision BeiDou positioning, intelligent perception, automatic control, and cluster coordination. The equipment achieves fully automatic paving and compaction through high-precision BeiDou positioning and automatic control; the unmanned paver and roller fleet exchange real-time data via the Internet of Things, automatically optimizing rolling passes, speed, and overlap width; self-developed algorithms adjust equipment paths in real time, eliminating human operational errors to ensure uniform paving layer thickness and tight joints. Centimeter-level path planning and intelligent adaptation guarantee the smoothness and compaction of the road surface.

Compared to traditional methods, this technology can save approximately 60% in labor, significantly enhance on-site safety and operational stability, and greatly improve construction efficiency over conventional modes. The equipment is equipped with intelligent obstacle avoidance systems and remote monitoring platforms, enabling it to adapt to complex conditions such as high temperatures and nighttime operations. LiuGong's unmanned driving technology has previously been tested in multiple projects. On the construction site of Jiangsu Province's S422 provincial road in Nanjing, this marked the first application of unmanned paving and rolling technology in highway construction in Jiangsu Province.

During the track bed construction of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway in Bayannur, Inner Mongolia, unmanned rollers used cloud-based intelligent planning to precisely control rolling parameters, avoiding manual operational errors and ensuring the density and stability of the subgrade.

At the Lawa Hydropower Station on the banks of the Jinsha River at an altitude of 2,700 meters, LiuGong's unmanned rollers, facing high-altitude oxygen deficiency and hard granite rockfill, participated in the construction of the world's tallest concrete face rockfill dam, with a compaction depth exceeding 1 meter and continuous operation capability of over 20 hours per day.

In the Qingfu Highway project in Gansu Province, the world's first unmanned construction case for cement-stabilized base layer achieved remote control of three pieces of equipment by one operator, with construction trajectory accuracy controlled within 2 to 3 centimeters and a 100% pass rate for all indicators.
