en.Wedoany.com Reported - ACCIONA Energía will begin preliminary work on the Fleming Solar Farm in Fleming County, Kentucky, USA, with the project scheduled to achieve grid connection and power generation by May 2028.

With a peak capacity of 235MWp, this solar farm will become ACCIONA Energía's fifth photovoltaic (PV) installation in the United States and its 18th renewable energy asset. ACCIONA Energía, the renewable energy subsidiary of ACCIONA, currently has a portfolio in the U.S. comprising approximately 3GW of installed renewable energy capacity, encompassing solar, wind, and energy storage technologies.
The Fleming Solar Farm project is expected to generate local economic benefits. The company will prioritize regional contractors, suppliers, and service providers during the construction and operational phases. The construction peak is expected to create up to 300 local jobs, with approximately 5 to 7 long-term positions available after operations begin. The project will also generate significant tax revenue for Fleming County, supporting public services and infrastructure. Additionally, the development offers participating landowners opportunities for income diversification.
During the planning phase, ACCIONA Energía has made donations and investments to local fire departments and community groups. The company stated it will continue to provide support through its Social Impact Management Program, focusing on areas such as education, environmental stewardship, health and wellness, and community development.
Fleming County, where the project is located, is known for its covered bridges. As part of its strategy, ACCIONA Energía plans to integrate the project into the local landscape and maintain ongoing engagement with community stakeholders. The facility will use solar trackers to optimize electricity generation throughout the day. The company emphasized its commitment to delivering economic and social benefits to the region throughout the project's development and operational lifecycle.
In February of this year, ACCIONA was awarded a contract by the Madrid regional government to build and manage a public electric vehicle charging hub within Madrid's M-30 ring road.
