en.Wedoany.com Reported - Aboitiz Renewables, Inc. has officially commissioned the San Manuel Solar Power Plant in Pangasinan province, Philippines, with an installed capacity of 92.55 megawatts peak (MWp). The facility will supply electricity to the Luzon grid, expanding the company's renewable energy capacity in the region.

The solar facility was developed in coordination with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), local government units, and host communities, and is connected to the grid via the San Manuel 69-kilovolt (kV) substation. The San Manuel plant is the third solar facility of Aboitiz Renewables in Pangasinan, following the 154 MWp Laoag 1 and 2 solar plants and the 94 MWp Cayanga-Bugallon solar plant.

Danel Aboitiz, President and CEO of AboitizPower, stated that as electricity demand continues to grow, this project will help strengthen the national energy system, diversify the power mix, and support long-term energy security. He added that the company continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, growing from approximately 900 MW in 2020 to a current attributable net sellable capacity of 2.3 GW, as AboitizPower believes that reliable, accessible, and affordable electricity is key to national progress.
