en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has introduced a new ready-to-use multi-turn absolute position sensor utilizing non-contact Hall effect technology, designed for high precision and long-term stability in harsh environments. The sensor, model Sfernice 34 PHE, features linearity as low as ±1% (full travel), a resolution of 1°, and a lifespan exceeding 10 million cycles, housed in a 7/8-inch (22.2 mm) diameter casing.
This sensor provides linear or rotary displacement tracking with a total electrical angle of 3600° (10 turns), offering a 40% cost reduction compared to previous-generation devices. Its high precision and resolution make it a cost-effective, high-performance solution for servo-loop motion control systems. Applications include displacement tracking for industrial motors and actuators, linear actuators for solar panel tracking, flow control valve positioning, and throttle and pedal position sensors in agricultural machinery, railway equipment, and marine applications.
To ensure reliable operation in these harsh environments, the 34 PHE offers IP65-rated sealing and withstands high-frequency vibration up to 20g and shock up to 50g. Integrated reverse polarity and overvoltage input protection (-14 VDC and +28 VDC, respectively) eliminate the need for external protection circuits, reducing overall costs. The device can be configured with single or dual analog ratiometric outputs or digital (PWM) outputs. When operating as a reverse tracking position sensor, the dual output provides built-in fault detection, enhancing safety, reliability, and functional safety compliance. Integrated alignment pins on the mounting surface simplify installation while preventing rotation, improving alignment accuracy and long-term stability.
As a "true power-on" device, the 34 PHE reports its position immediately upon power-up without requiring recalibration, homing, or initialization procedures, even after power loss, and without the need for battery backup, further reducing costs. The device is RoHS-compliant, customizable upon request, and operates with a supply voltage of 5 VDC ± 10%. Samples and volume production of the 34 PHE are available now, with a lead time of 14 weeks.
