en.Wedoany.com Reported - Air India Express has fully restored its West Asia network flights, with previously suspended routes to Kuwait and Salalah now back in operation.
The airline announced that flights from Kozhikode to Salalah resumed on July 2, and flights from Kozhikode to Kuwait resumed on July 3. Flights from Bengaluru to Kuwait resumed on July 4, with frequencies gradually increasing in the following days. Specifically, the Kozhikode-Salalah route initially operates two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Kozhikode-Kuwait route operates once a week from July 3, increasing to three times a week from July 5. The Bengaluru-Kuwait route operates once a week from July 4, increasing to three times a week from July 7.
All Air India Express flights to and from Kuwait operate at Terminal 4 of Kuwait International Airport. Additionally, the airline resumed flights from Muscat to Mangaluru on July 3. Currently, Air India Express operates approximately 40 weekly flights from Muscat to seven destinations in India.
Air India Express began restoring flights to destinations in the United Arab Emirates in April this year. Recently, the airline added new routes such as Navi Mumbai-Abu Dhabi, Guwahati-Abu Dhabi, and Guwahati-Dubai, while also expanding its domestic and other international route networks. This flight restoration comes amid ongoing adjustments to flight schedules in the Middle East region, following conflicts between the United States, Israel, and Iran that previously caused disruptions in regional airspace, affecting the normal operations of multiple routes.
With the resumption of the Salalah route, Air India Express now operates at two airports in Oman: Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport. West Asia remains one of the airline's largest international markets. Air India Express now serves 13 destinations across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, operating approximately 780 weekly round-trip flights, directly connecting 18 cities in India.
Following the latest frequency increases, Air India Express will operate approximately 415 weekly flights from Bengaluru, serving 30 domestic destinations and 7 international destinations. From Kozhikode, the airline operates approximately 85 weekly flights, connecting this Kerala city to 13 destinations in West Asia and Bengaluru.
